The Rainbow VHF/UHF Repeater Site is located in Rio Rancho, NM at approximately 35°16’22.8″N 106°43’55.2″W in a multi-agency facility. The Repeater system is linked to the Pajarito repeater using a VHF link-radio system, but an upgraded 5 Ghz link system is currently under construction, to allow the current link radio to be utilized for connection to the La Madera repeater, which is currently stand-alone. The repeater has a 25 watt RF output on both the 147.10 Mhz and 443.10 Mhz systems (both use the standard offset, CTCSS Tone 100hz). The antennas for both systems consist of 4-bay exposed dipole antennas, located at approximately 180 feet above ground level on the tower, giving these repeaters a wide coverage over almost all of Sandoval County, and into the adjoining counties as well.
